Europe is fighting back against e-Book piracy
At the beginning of the month, an US-hosted ebook piracy website was taken down. Active for several months, the site was giving away ebooks for free. The piracy in the sector is directing affecting publishers and authors around the world.
Good news for ebook commerce came from Europe, where a study conducted by the Institute for Information Law and financed by Google verified a decrease on ebook piracy.
Although many countries have shown a decline, some others such as Indonesia, Thailand, and Brazil are still fighting online piracy.
The report reached almost 35,000 in 13 countries for their survey – that also bring numbers related to the acquisition and consumption of music, series, books, and games.
