Tumblr crackdown
Following a topic discussed in this blog back in October about the approval of SESTA and FOSTA packages, now it’s time for Tumblr to make some changes in their platform.
Starting on December 17, the popular blogging platform will no longer allow any depictions of sex acts, even illustrated.
The crackdown comes after Tumblr admitted it had trouble identifying and removing content related to child sex abuse which led to the removal of the mobile app from the Apple App Store.
Tumblr, like many social media platforms, has struggled with filtering and moderating content that toes the line of free speech, such as porn accounts and hate speech. But many users of the platform, which attracts young, creative types and large media fandoms, think the most recent changes aren’t a good fix (*).
